The Opportunity
Our client is a leading civil engineering contractor looking to strengthen its commercial team with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.
You'll work on major infrastructure schemes across the Southern Region, with opportunities to support significant highways and port infrastructure projects.
This is an excellent opportunity to take commercial ownership of complex projects, support junior team members and contribute to the successful delivery of critical infrastructure works.
The Role
You'll oversee the commercial and contractual management of your projects, driving financial performance, controlling costs and managing risk throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing the commercial performance of civil engineering projects.

Supporting and mentoring Assistant and Project Quantity Surveyors.

Monitoring costs, budgets, profitability and forecasts.

Preparing estimates, cost plans and financial reports.
-
Managing subcontract procurement, agreements and payments.
-
Valuing and agreeing variations under NEC contracts.
-
Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
-
Supporting dispute resolution and adjudication where required.

Ensuring compliance with quality, health and safety, and environmental standards.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with:

A strong background in civil engineering and major infrastructure projects.

Experience working on highways or similar infrastructure schemes.

Good knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management.

Strong negotiation, communication and analytical skills.
-
The ability to manage commercial risk and support project teams.
-
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
