The Opportunity
Our client is an established and growing UK infrastructure and construction contractor delivering complex projects across a range of sectors.
They're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of major infrastructure schemes, including projects supporting the UK's evolving energy and low-carbon infrastructure landscape.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing main contractor working across technically complex projects, with a strong focus on commercial performance, collaboration and long-term career development.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll lead the commercial management of projects, working closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers to maximise value, manage risk and maintain strong commercial controls.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing subcontract and supplier agreements, negotiations and payments.

Administering NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including Options A and C.

Managing compensation events, variations, change control and contractual risk.

Monitoring budgets, cost variances, forecasts and project profitability.

Preparing monthly CVRs, valuations, earned value reports and commercial updates.

Reviewing subcontractor applications and validating payment information.
-
Maintaining change registers and accurate cost records for client audits.

Monitoring programme, costs and contractual obligations through regular site visits.

Managing contract closeout, final accounts and outstanding commercial issues.

Building collaborative relationships with clients, subcontractors and the wider supply chain.
About You
We're looking for a commercially focused Senior Quantity Surveyor with:

Proven experience in Quantity Surveying within construction or infrastructure.

Strong knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts, ideally Options A and C.

Experience managing subcontractors, procurement and contract administration.

Strong skills in cost control, forecasting, CVRs and financial reporting.

The ability to identify commercial risks, manage change and protect project margins.

Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

A collaborative approach and the confidence to advise project teams on commercial matters.
Experience working on major energy, industrial or low-carbon infrastructure projects, including carbon capture-related schemes, would be particularly relevant.
