Senior Project Manager
Our client is a leading partner to Tier One infrastructure contractors, delivering major projects across regulated, private and public sectors through frameworks, joint ventures, alliances and standalone contracts.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex infrastructure programmes within heavy civil engineering environments.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of major infrastructure schemes from early development through to completion, leading design, preconstruction and construction activities across complex heavy civil engineering projects.
Working closely with operational teams, clients and stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and commercially, while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects from design through to completion, ensuring programme, commercial and operational objectives are achieved
- Manage project finances including forecasting, cost control, reporting and commercial performance
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, framework partners and stakeholders
- Manage multidisciplinary teams, direct labour and subcontractors to deliver projects safely and efficiently
- Ensure robust health, safety, environmental and quality standards are maintained throughout project delivery
- Support tendering activities, identify future opportunities and contribute to business growth initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Significant heavy civils experience is essential, including projects involving deep drainage, shaft sinking, pipelines, tunnelling, multi-utility works and complex earthworks
- Experience within the water sector (clean water and/or wastewater) is strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage both direct labour and subcontract supply chains
- Strong client-facing experience with the ability to manage key stakeholder relationships
- Excellent planning, programming and project controls capability
- Strong commercial awareness with sound understanding of NEC contracts, including Option C mechanisms
- Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), CSCS Managers Card and SMSTS
- Proven track record of delivering successful projects with minimal supervision
Desirable
- Chartered status or working towards chartership (CEng / IEng / AMICE)
- Primavera P6 experience or equivalent planning software knowledge
- Knowledge of Development Consent Order (DCO) processes
