Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a solid background in NEC contracts and / or the Water Industry? Looking to join a supportive team delivering essential infrastructure with a focus on quality, collaboration, and professional growth?

Our client is expanding; they are looking for a driven and detail-focused QS to join their commercial team based in Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on long-term frameworks, using your NEC contract expertise to add real value across high-profile water infrastructure projects.


About the Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll take ownership of commercial and contract management tasks across various water sector schemes. Your expertise in NEC contracts will be vital in managing target cost projects, ensuring compliance, accurate cost control, and financial performance from inception to final account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of NEC infrastructure contracts
  • Preparation of interim valuations and final accounts
  • Procurement and contract administration of sub-contractors
  • Site measurements, valuations, and cost control
  • Evaluation of variations and delay notifications
  • Cash flow forecasting, CVRs, and reporting
  • Supporting design & construction teams with commercial insight
  • Maintain strong records and contract compliance
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to improve margin and programme performance

What The Are Looking For

  • Proven experience in NEC Target Cost Contracts (Essential)
  • NEC contract experience - ideally infrastructure
  • Prior involvement in frameworks and D&B contracts
  • Strong commercial acumen with hands-on QS delivery
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project systems, and extranet tools
  • Full UK driving licence
