Salary: £79k base + £6k car

Due to continued growth and a robust pipeline of residential developments, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team.


The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for multiple residential projects, ensuring cost control, financial reporting, and the procurement of subcontractors is carried out to the highest standard.

You’ll be working within a supportive commercial team and closely alongside construction, technical, and sales departments to ensure smooth project delivery and maximum return on investment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of cost planning and control across multiple housing developments

  • Prepare tender packages, manage procurement, and oversee subcontractor negotiations

  • Regularly report on project budgets, forecasts, and variations

  • Liaise with site teams to monitor progress and address commercial risks

  • Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and internal processes

  • Maintain accurate records using COINS software


About You

They are looking for someone commercially astute and highly organised, with excellent stakeholder communication skills and a proven track record in residential development.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the UK housebuilding industry

  • Strong working knowledge of COINS software

  • Experience delivering volume residential schemes (traditionally built and/or timber frame)

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent (RICS accreditation desirable)

  • Strong contract knowledge (JCT and bespoke forms)

  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and reporting skills
