About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Manager to join their growing civil engineering team, delivering high-quality housing plotworks across residential developments.

Working for an established civils contractor, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Site Manager who has a strong background in residential infrastructure and plotworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all on-site operations for housing plotworks projects from commencement through to completion.
  • Coordinate and supervise site teams, subcontractors, plant, and materials.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Monitor progress against programme and proactively resolve site issues.
  • Liaise with clients, developers, local authorities, utility providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and regular safety briefings.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, and quality documentation.
  • Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
  • Manage labour resources efficiently while maintaining productivity and quality.
  • Support commercial teams by identifying variations and reporting site progress.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within a civil engineering contractor.
  • Strong background delivering housing plotworks and residential infrastructure.
  • Excellent knowledge of roads, sewers, drainage, foundations, hard landscaping, and external works.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain programme delivery.
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
  • CSCS Manager Card
  • First Aid at Work
  • Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable)
  • NRSWA Supervisor (desirable)
