Planner

 

 

An established UK civil engineering and infrastructure specialist is looking to appoint an experienced Planner to join its team. With over 40 years' experience and more than 1,200 employees nationwide, the business delivers major infrastructure projects across water, transport, energy and the built environment, working with major clients through frameworks, joint ventures, alliances and standalone projects.

The Role

As Planner, you will support both Estimating and Delivery teams, contributing across tenders, pre-construction and live projects.

You will be responsible for helping develop and maintain robust project programmes, establishing construction methodologies and sequencing, monitoring critical paths and milestones, and identifying programme risks and opportunities.

You will also support:

  • Tender programme development and compliance reviews.

  • Programme animations and digital construction rehearsal.

  • Weekly planning updates and performance reviews.

  • Critical path and milestone monitoring.

  • Programme reporting and project controls.

  • Identification and quantification of claimable delays.

  • Programme development to demonstrate the impact of change.

  • Advice to Operations and Commercial teams around programme risk, float and delay.

About You

You will have a strong understanding of construction sequencing and project delivery, ideally gained through site-level experience with a UK contractor.

You should have:

  • CSCS Card.

  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing.

  • Good knowledge of NEC and other relevant contracts.

  • Experience leading collaborative planning processes.

  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 / Primavera Cloud.

  • Competence in MS Project.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex programme information clearly.

A degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction would be advantageous.
