Planner

We have an opportunity for a Planner to join a busy Water Infrastructure team working on water mains renewal schemes for a major client framework. This Planner role will be responsible for developing, designing and helping to deliver renewal schemes from concept through to completion — working closely with clients, highways, subcontractors and stakeholders.

What the Planner will do (Key responsibilities)

  • Act as the Planner lead for water mains renewal schemes, interpreting client requirements and developing the most appropriate design and delivery solution.

  • Undertake site meetings with the client, highway authorities and subcontractors to identify the best delivery method for schemes.

  • Produce construction design drawings and technical scope documents ready for costing and delivery (CAD knowledge preferred — e.g., AutoCAD).

  • Liaise with the client to ensure compliance with technical standards and scheme acceptance.

  • Produce the design solution, scope of works and construction programmes as the Planner responsible for the scheme timeline.

  • Ensure all planning criteria are met, including coordination of CDM requirements.

  • Liaise with highway authorities on street works requirements and NRSWA compliance.

  • Engage with private landowners and environmental / archaeological stakeholders as required.

  • Identify and coordinate any required customer communications and keep stakeholders informed.

  • Maintain effective communication and record-keeping throughout delivery and handover.
