Assistant Quantity Surveyor- Regional Contractor

I am currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, to work on social housing contracts for a regional contractor

Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Sunderland
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management Support: Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for social housing contracts.
  • Contract Administration: Support in managing contract documentation, including valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Procurement Assistance: Help with tendering processes, including evaluating supplier and subcontractor bids.
  • Site Visits & Reporting: Conduct site visits to monitor progress and assist in resolving any cost-related issues on-site.
  • Client Liaison: Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to support the smooth delivery of projects.

About You:

  • Experience: Some experience in Quantity Surveying or a similar construction-related role is preferred. Experience in social housing contracts is an advantage but not essential.
  • Qualifications: A degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Skills: Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to assist in cost management and contract administration.
  • Proactive & Enthusiastic: A keen interest in developing your Quantity Surveying career and the ability to work well within a team.
  • IT Proficiency: Comfortable using Quantity Surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
