Our client, a self delivery main contractor, is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor due to growth and new projects starting. The role will be site and office based. With a strong pipeline of work this is an excellent opportunity to join a successful team and progress your career.

Your responsibilities:
Based on site as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a newbuild education project.
- Accurately valuing, certifying, and issuing any relevant payment notices for the subcontract works in accordance with the conditions of their subcontract.
- Ensuring that external valuations are submitted in accordance with the conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date.
- Completing CVC reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the current position on site and the final profit projection.
- Building and establishing excellent working relationships with our supply chain, consultants, and clients where appropriate, this will enable you to identify any potential disputes in a timely manner to your line manager and then implement effective resolutions.
- Working closely with the project team and senior commercial staff to achieve or exceed budgeted targets for your project.
Skills and Aptitude:
- Strong communication and listening skills, with good negotiation skills.
- Highly motivated to deliver quality developments.
- Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and demonstrates the ability to meet deadlines.
- IT literate and the ability to adapt to new systems.
- Good administration skills.
- Regularly liaise with clients, Project Manager, and suppliers to maintain clear communication throughout the entire project.
Requirements:
- HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, ideally within the construction, student accommodation, or fit out.
- Knowledge of construction regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Reading and accurately interpreting drawings and specifications.
- A base understanding of contract law.
- Experience in re-measurement.
- Construction related degree.
- Procurement experience.
- Financial / cost control.
- Driving License.
