We are currently partnering with a well-established architectural practice seeking an Architectural Technologist to join their team in Leeds.
You will act as, or support, the Design Team Leader in preparing, managing, and coordinating project activities across RIBA Stages 1–7, ensuring delivery aligns with the project brief, meets agreed programmes, and maintains company standards. You will work in a professional manner, contributing to the successful technical delivery of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design and specification of building projects in accordance with current guidelines, standards, and regulations.
- Manage projects through planning, Building Regulations, and other statutory approvals as required.
- Independently lead multidisciplinary design teams on smaller, technically focused projects, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, and quality expectations.
- Act as technical lead on small to medium-sized projects, supporting senior colleagues.
- Support the delivery of complex and high-risk projects, ensuring technical quality, coordination, and compliance.
- Manage and coordinate external consultants, maintaining performance standards and design integrity.
- Engage proactively with clients, delivering a high level of service within commercial constraints.
- Lead discussions relating to technical and design coordination matters.
- Assist with fee forecasting, invoicing, and project profitability monitoring.
- Contribute to business development activities, including tender submissions, presentations, and sector events.
- Support marketing initiatives by providing project updates, imagery, and content for internal systems and external platforms.
- Maintain a high standard of professional conduct, demonstrating commitment to the practice and its clients.
Requirements:
- 5 years + residential experience
- Professionally qualified with a relevant degree (or equivalent) and post-qualification experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIAT (desirable).
- Developing track record in technical design and project delivery within relevant sectors.
- Experience working with a variety of clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to support the organisation and coordination of design teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of technical design principles, standards, and delivery processes.
- Good knowledge of related building and engineering disciplines and their integration within projects.
- Ability to apply technical judgement to ensure compliance with design standards.
- Understanding of the design and construction industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using CMAP and Newforma.
