Site Manager

Overview

We are seeking a Site Manager to lead delivery of civils and water infrastructure packages within the United Utilities Water framework for a main contractor. The Site Manager will manage on-site construction activities in live operational water assets, ensuring safe, high-quality, on-programme delivery with robust cost control, stakeholder liaison and compliance with CDM, permit-to-work and environmental requirements.

Key Skills

  • Site Manager: site delivery, team leadership and subcontractor management

  • Water & wastewater civils: reinforced concrete, piling, drainage, temporary works

  • HSEQ leadership: RAMS, permit systems, confined-space and high-risk works

  • Programme & commercial control: 2-week look-ahead, progress reporting, cost-plan management

  • Quality & compliance: ITP support, testing regimes and inspection records

  • Plant, lifting & logistics: heavy lifting, Appointed Person awareness, Slinger/Signaller coordination

  • Client interface: ambassadorial representation to clients, regulators and the public

Qualifications & Required Tickets

Essential:

  • Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent, or NVQ Site Management qualification

  • CSCS (Black Manager) / SMSTS

  • Temporary Works Coordinator / Temporary Works Supervisor (TWC/TWS)

  • Appointed Person (lifting) awareness/competency

  • First Aid at Work certificate

  • Confined Space training

  • Relevant plant tickets (telehandler, dumper, roller) and Slinger/Signaller

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 6/7 in Construction Site Management

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent H&S leadership training

  • Experience of safety-critical medicals / water hygiene (EUSR)

  • Knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts and Primavera P6
