Senior Electrical Engineer – Water & Wastewater Infrastructure

About the Role
We are a leading integrated design and build business operating across the water, energy, and environmental sectors in the UK. We deliver major infrastructure projects, including upgrades to water treatment works and storm overflow reduction programmes that protect rivers and bathing waters.
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to projects that make a tangible difference to communities and the environment. You will work across the feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning phases of water and wastewater treatment projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review electrical engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment equipment, including Motor Control Centres, LV distribution systems, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
- Produce and review technical specifications and procurement schedules; evaluate supplier tender bids and technical submissions.
- Supervise and mentor graduate engineers, supporting their professional development.
- Apply and contribute to design standards, ensuring compliance with client and industry regulations.
- Engage positively with clients to build relationships and support the achievement of project goals.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered or incorporated membership of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE) or equivalent experience.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the operational region.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems in industrial or utility environments, including both legacy and modern technology.
