Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take full commercial responsibility for a portfolio of social housing refurbishment and retrofit projects, ensuring financial performance, contractual compliance, and effective cost control from pre-construction through to final account.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to play a key role within a growing business delivering essential housing improvements across the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial delivery of multiple refurbishment, retrofit, and planned maintenance contracts.
- Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating subcontractor packages and procurement strategies.
- Producing accurate cost forecasts, valuations, CVRs, and monthly commercial reports.
- Managing applications for payment, variations, compensation events, and final accounts.
- Monitoring project performance and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Supporting operational teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably and efficiently.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures, and client requirements.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Providing commercial guidance and mentoring to junior surveying staff where required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector.
- Excellent understanding of commercial management, contract administration, and cost control.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and commercially driven approach.
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, or equivalent professional body is desirable.
