Quantity Surveyor

Are you a Quantity Surveyor, looking to progress your career with a Tier 1 main contractor in the North East. With a strong pipeline of work in the North East our client is looking to grow their commercial team. If you have experience working on projects from £5M upwards, as part of a commercial team and ideally running your own projects then this could be a great opportunity for you. Your experience will include supporting senior surveying staff on a specific project to ensure that it is procured, delivered within budget, and to the highest quality whilst exceeding our customers’ expectations. You will also ensure that the financial position of the project is accurate and manage the contractual relationships of our supply chain partners.

We would also like to hear from Assistant Quantity Surveyors for this role and will consider applicants for Tier 1 contractors and strong regional firms. 
 

Your responsibilities:

Based on site:

  • Assisting in accurately valuing, certifying, and issuing any relevant payment notices for the subcontract works in accordance with the conditions of their subcontract.
  • Ensuring that external valuations are submitted in accordance with the conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date.
  • Completing CVC reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the current position on site and the final profit projection.
  • Building and establishing excellent working relationships with our supply chain, consultants, and clients where appropriate, this will enable you to identify any potential disputes in a timely manner to your line manager and then implement effective resolutions.
  • Working closely with the project team and senior commercial staff to achieve or exceed budgeted targets for your project.

 

Your experience will include:
 

  • Reading and accurately interpreting drawings and specifications.
  • A base understanding of contract law.
  • Experience in re-measurement.
  • Construction related degree.
  • Procurement experience.
  • Financial / cost control.
  • Appropriate CSCS card.
  • Driving Licence.
