Overview
A new opportunity has arisen for a Civils Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of clean and wastewater infrastructure projects under the Northumbrian Water framework. Based in the North East, this role will play a critical part in ensuring that works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams and be responsible for all aspects of project planning, execution, and commercial control across key water infrastructure schemes.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of water infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring programme targets for safety, time, cost, and quality are met.

Develop and maintain the Project Delivery Plan, including detailed short-term and long-term programmes, resource planning, and strategic milestones.

Oversee all elements of project delivery including design coordination, construction, health & safety, quality assurance, commercial oversight, and team leadership.

Chair pre-start meetings and progress reviews, proactively identifying and resolving issues that may impact successful delivery.

Ensure HSQE compliance across the project lifecycle, reporting accurately and in line with group policies.

Build and manage high-performing delivery teams, promoting a collaborative and positive working environment.

Work closely with commercial teams to ensure financial targets and risk management are fully integrated with operational delivery.

Support tendering and bid activity when required, contributing to ongoing framework success.

Take ownership of people management responsibilities including performance reviews, coaching, and professional development of direct reports.
Qualifications and Experience

Proven experience managing complex civil engineering projects, ideally in the water or utilities sector.

Demonstrated success managing site delivery, HSQE, commercial, and programme elements concurrently.

Strong commercial awareness and experience working across NEC or similar contract frameworks.

Previous experience delivering multiple contracts or high-value projects within regulated environments.

SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely certification is essential.

Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Valid full UK driving licence is essential.
