We are recruiting an experienced HSEQ Advisor to support major infrastructure works on behalf of a tier one contractor delivering projects within the Severn Trent Water framework, as we transition into AMP8.
As a dedicated HSEQ Advisor, you will play a critical role in promoting and maintaining high standards of health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) across multiple civil engineering and utilities projects. You will work closely with site teams, project managers, and client representatives to ensure legal compliance and drive continuous improvement in HSEQ performance.
Responsibilities:

Provide hands-on HSEQ support and guidance to operational teams across multiple active sites.

Conduct regular site inspections and audits, producing HSEQ Advisory Notes and reports.

Lead and support investigations into incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Assist in reviewing RAMS, SSOW, CPPs, QMPs, and EMPs.

Monitor and report HSEQ performance data, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.

Deliver toolbox talks, safety alerts, and site briefings aligned with monthly safety themes.

Liaise with client assurance teams to ensure compliance with Severn Trent Water requirements.

Input into and support annual ‘Be Healthy, Be Safe’ plans and HSEQ campaigns.

Coordinate and track actions from enforcement bodies and internal/external audits.

Support onboarding and induction of new staff in line with the HSEQ management system.

Maintain and update digital tracking systems and inspection logs.
Requirements:

NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (minimum)

Tech or Grad IOSH membership
-
Environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA Foundation or NEBOSH Environmental)

CSCS card or equivalent (SHEA/EUSR)

Strong understanding of CDM 2015 regulations

Proven HSEQ experience in the civil engineering or utilities sector (ideally water projects)

Competent in incident investigation and reporting, including use of Power BI or similar tools

Experience reviewing and developing RAMS and SSOW
-
Knowledge of quality processes, with the ability to support on audits and compliance

Full UK driving licence required
