An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fire Alarm Designer to join the Asset Intelligence division of one of the UK's leading infrastructure contractors.
This award-winning business delivers complex projects across the UK's Critical National Infrastructure, supporting sectors including Water, Energy, Defence, Transport and Telecommunications. Based from the Warrington headquarters with hybrid working available, you'll also travel to project sites across Lincolnshire.
The Role
Working as part of a collaborative design team, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality fire alarm and life safety system designs from concept through to delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:

Designing fire alarm and detection systems to meet client specifications and current industry standards.

Producing detector layouts, loop drawings, cause & effect documentation, panel layouts and fire strategies.

Ensuring all designs comply with relevant British Standards including BS5839, BS7671, BS7273 and associated regulations.

Supporting value engineering initiatives to deliver cost-effective, compliant solutions.

Reviewing subcontractor designs and providing technical guidance throughout project delivery.

Carrying out site surveys, design reviews and supporting BIM coordination where required.

Working closely with project, commercial and delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Managing design changes and supporting commissioning and handover activities.
About You
We're keen to speak with experienced Fire Alarm Designers who have:

Proven experience designing fire detection and life safety systems.

Knowledge of PA/VA systems, suppression systems and fire stopping.

Strong understanding of relevant fire system standards and legislation.

Experience producing technical design documentation including URS and FDS documentation.

Familiarity with BIM environments and interpreting 3D models.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.

An ONC, HNC, Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects.
