Electrical Design Engineer - Asset Intelligence

Our client, a leading UK engineering and construction business is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their Asset Intelligence team, ideally based around Warrington, with travel across multiple regional sites. The company operates across the UK, delivering critical infrastructure projects in Defence, Water, Energy, Transport, and Telecommunications. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage electrical design projects, providing technical support to the engineering team.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders, attend meetings, and maintain client relationships.
  • Conduct surveys, produce reports, and perform quality inspections.
  • Oversee project finances and develop technical standards.
  • Prepare concept designs, detailed designs, calculations, and tender documentation.
  • Electrical design scope includes: LV distribution, cable management, fire detection, lighting & controls, small power, structured cabling, and integration with building/HVAC systems.
  • Support controls integration and develop operational descriptions.
  • Produce drawings and calculations using CAD, Revit, and other industry-standard software.
  • Conduct on-site surveys, project management, snagging, and condition reporting.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer or working towards registration (CIBSE/IET).
  • 5+ years’ experience in electrical design and project management.
  • Knowledge of: CIBSE Guides, IEE Regulations, CDM Regulations, BS Standards, Revit/BIM standards, RIBA/BG6 frameworks.
  • Proficient in CAD, Amtech, Hevacomp, Dialux/Relux, Microsoft Office; Revit and Bluebeam desirable.
  • Understanding of LV/HV systems, controls integration, and sustainability best practices.
  • Experience in multi-site, fast-paced national projects.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
