Contracts Manager

Our client is a fast-growing contractor specialising in refurbishment, planned maintenance, and commercial works across the social housing and property sector. The Role
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager ideally from a council or social housing background, with exposure to commercial works too. The successful candidate will oversee multiple contracts, managing refurbishments and void property works, while also delivering high-quality outcomes on commercial schemes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and motivate site teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
  • Manage client relationships, acting as the main point of contact to ensure excellent service and repeat business.
  • Oversee refurbishment and voids programmes, plus occasional commercial works (e.g., cladding, student accommodation).
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
  • Drive efficiencies across projects, controlling costs and resources.
  • Report regularly on progress, risks, and financial performance.

 

About You:

  • Experience as a Contracts Manager in social housing, council works, or similar environments.
  • Exposure to commercial projects desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of driving and developing site teams.
  • Excellent client-facing and relationship management abilities.
  • Highly organised, motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relevant qualifications: CSCS Card (Black/Gold), SMSTS.
  • Full UK driving licence (car allowance included in package).
