Overview
A leading tier one contractor on the Southern Water Framework is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of clean water mains replacement projects. This is a critical role with full responsibility for managing multiple projects across design, construction, commissioning, and handover. You'll be accountable for programme delivery, commercial performance, safety, and quality — while building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the successful delivery of multiple clean water projects.

Take full ownership of programme, budget, and contract performance.

Oversee all phases from planning and procurement through to completion and client handover.

Ensure compliance with all HSEQ standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Drive performance across project teams including engineers, site staff, and commercial teams.

Support and mentor staff to maintain high standards of delivery and career development.

Maintain effective client relationships through regular meetings and progress reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
-
Proven track record as a Contracts Manager in civil engineering or water sector projects.

Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, risk and cost management.

Proficiency in planning software (MS Project; P6 desirable).

HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

SMSTS and CSCS qualifications.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
