Commercial Manager – Infrastructure / Engineering Projects
Location: North West (Hybrid Working Available)
A leading UK infrastructure services organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to support the continued growth of its engineering and infrastructure division.
The business delivers critical infrastructure projects across the energy, power, water, telecoms and social infrastructure sectors, working with major clients to deliver complex, high-value projects nationwide.

The Opportunity
As Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of the commercial delivery of multiple infrastructure projects while working closely with senior leadership to develop and improve commercial processes, governance and best practice.
This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact, supporting the growth of the commercial and purchasing function, mentoring team members and driving improved commercial performance across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading commercial management across multiple infrastructure projects
- Managing client, supplier and subcontractor relationships
- Overseeing procurement, contract administration and final accounts
- Producing CVRs, valuations, cost forecasts and commercial reports
- Supporting change management and commercial governance
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and commercial performance
- Working collaboratively with operational teams and senior stakeholders
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role
- Experience working within civil engineering, utilities, energy, rail or wider infrastructure sectors
- Strong knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including change management and contract administration
- Experience managing subcontractor and supplier accounts from procurement through to final account
- Strong commercial awareness with knowledge of contractual and legal obligations
- Experience producing CVRs, valuations, forecasts and management reports
- Experience leading, mentoring or developing commercial teams
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a similar commercial discipline preferred
- MRICS or MCIOB qualification desirable
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with management accounts and commercial reporting
- Previous experience within construction, engineering or infrastructure environments
- Valid UK driving licence
- CSCS card at the appropriate level
