Structural Engineer

We are working with a consultancy seeking a full-time Structural Engineer to become an integral part of their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct technical and feasibility studies, including organising site investigations.
- Utilise a diverse array of software to create detailed structural designs and perform hand calculations.
- Liaise effectively with clients and professionals, including contractors and architects.
- Prepare contract documents and manage tenders while resolving design and development challenges.
- Manage project budgets and resources, ensuring compliance with legal requirements such as CDM2015 and Party Wall regulations.
- Independently undertake large-scale projects, ensuring adherence to standards of professional consultancy services.
- Assess sustainability and environmental impacts of projects.
- Contribute to marketing objectives and initiatives to enhance the company presence.
- Assist directors in the training and development of the engineering team.
- Supervise and inspect construction work, preparing interim and final accounts, claims, and practical completions.
- Support ICE/IStructE candidates with knowledge sharing and mentorship.
- Uphold the company’s administrative, personnel procedures, and Health & Safety regulations.

Are You the Right Fit?

To thrive in this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following qualifications:

- MICE / MIStructE / FICE qualification, Chartership is desired but not essential, they will help you through the process
- Extensive experience within consulting engineering, surveying, and planning practices, alongside knowledge of statutory requirements and technical guidelines.
- Proven negotiation, supervisory, and leadership skills.
- Track record managing large-scale projects on deadlines and within budgets.
- Strong mathematical, scientific, and IT capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think methodically.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation.
