JOB DESCRIPTION
The organisation operates as a UK gas and energy engineering specialist, delivering design, build and maintenance services across critical national infrastructure projects for gas asset owners.
This role is open to contractors (including LTD companies) or permanent employees.
The successful individual will act as the commercial lead on assigned projects and will be accountable for overall commercial performance. The role requires adherence to established commercial administration procedures while fostering a collaborative working environment with clients, subcontractors and the wider supply chain.
Contract Management Responsibilities

Negotiate terms and conditions of subcontracts

Manage and process payments for specialist subcontractors and key suppliers

Ensure compliance with all contractual terms, conditions, rights and obligations

Report monthly on outturn Pain/Gain where applicable
-
Coordinate changes in accordance with NEC3/4 Option A and C contracts

Analyse the commercial impact of changes and assess liability exposure
Contract Administration

Monitor and manage contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle

Undertake site visits to administer contracts in line with project progress
-
Monitor and report on programme, cost performance and key project risks

Manage contract close-out, ensuring all obligations are met and payments verified
-
Prepare and execute required documentation, reports and clearances
-
Work collaboratively with clients and subcontractors across all commercial activities
Budget Management

Support project teams in assessing the impact of budget changes

Capture, analyse and report cost variances
-
Collate Defined Cost Records for client audit purposes
Reporting and Documentation
-
Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR)
-
Prepare Earned Value Analysis (EVA) reports
-
Validate subcontractor applications and payment data
-
Review weekly cost monitors, comparing forecast versus actual expenditure
-
Prepare monthly valuations
-
Maintain comprehensive change registers
-
Provide commercial input into monthly commercial reports
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience
-
Minimum of five years’ relevant commercial experience
-
Background within the Energy, Oil or Gas sectors
-
Experience operating in a senior commercial or project-commercial role
