Managing Quantity Surveyor – Major Infrastructure Programme
Overview
We're seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure programme delivering long-term capital works across the water and civil engineering sectors.
This is a senior commercial leadership position offering genuine ownership of project performance across a diverse portfolio of works, ranging from reactive maintenance and asset improvement schemes to multi-million-pound infrastructure projects.
Working within a collaborative delivery environment, you'll support the successful delivery of water infrastructure, utilities, pipelines, treatment works, and wider civil engineering projects delivered under NEC and framework-based contracts. With a strong pipeline of secured work already in place, this role offers both long-term stability and excellent career progression opportunities.
Responsibilities

Lead the commercial management of infrastructure projects from inception through to final account

Produce and manage cost reporting, CVRs, forecasting, and cash flow reporting

Oversee subcontract procurement, negotiation, and commercial administration

Administer NEC and IChemE contracts, including compensation events, change control, and applications for payment

Manage subcontract accounts through to final account settlement

Provide commercial guidance and support to operational and project delivery teams

Monitor commercial performance, identify risks, and maximise value across project delivery
Qualifications

Experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or the water sector

Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (IChemE experience advantageous)

Proven track record in commercial management, forecasting, and subcontract administration

Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, or CICES) desirable, or working towards accreditation

Strong commercial acumen with excellent stakeholder management skills
