Landscape Architect - York City Centre

On behalf of a growing planning consultancy based in York, we are looking to speak with Landscape Architects across all levels to join a friendly and heavily experienced team.

You will work on an extensive range of projects, including: Residential, commercial, renewables, Civils, master planning new build developments. All senior staff are Chartered Members of the Landscape Institute (CMLI), offering services from feasibility and conceptual advice, to master planning and strategies, planning submissions, including landscape and visual assessment, through to detailed landscape design.

The consultancy, has a strong pipeline of work across several sector typologies, where you will ideally manage your own projects, closely with the client. Our client, currently has a hybrid working model in place where the only requirement to come into the office, is for the Monday meeting.

Hybrid working isn't for all, so the office does remain incredibly busy for those who wish to spend more time at the office.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the design of a variety of projects, including urban regeneration schemes, pedestrian schemes, road or retail schemes and maintain the character of sites of natural beauty
- Establish general landscape requirements with clients
- Conduct preliminary studies of the site (including contours, soil, ecology, buildings, roads, heritage)
- Assess a site's potential to meet the client's specifications
- Carry out environmental impact assessments
- Seek and take into account the views of local residents, potential users, and parties with a vested interest in the project
- Accurately prepare and present detailed plans and working drawings of the re-design of the new site, including applications, construction details and specifications for the project using computer-aided design (CAD) packages or similar design software.
