Are you an experienced Estimator looking for your next opportunity within civil engineering and infrastructure?
A leading civil engineering contractor is looking to strengthen its pre-construction team with an Estimator to support the delivery and winning of major water and infrastructure projects across the UK.
This is a great opportunity to join an established team where you’ll have real involvement in high-value tenders, major frameworks and complex civil engineering schemes, working closely with bid, planning, procurement and operational teams.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of producing accurate and competitive estimates, from initial tender review through to adjudication and handover.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing cost estimates, tender build-ups and pricing for civil engineering projects
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, BoQs and tender documentation
- Developing methodologies, assumptions and allowances while identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Working collaboratively with planning, procurement, commercial and operational teams
- Presenting estimates at tender adjudications and supporting negotiations where required
- Providing a clear and detailed handover to the delivery team following contract award
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous estimating experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or the water sector, with a good understanding of construction methodologies and commercial principles.
You’ll ideally have experience using Candy or similar estimating software, be confident interpreting technical information and have the communication skills to work effectively across pre-construction and delivery teams.
Chartered status would be advantageous but is not essential.
