We are currently seeking an Site/ Setting out Engineer to join our client based in the North East region, responsible for supporting and assisting the Regional Technical team and operating team. This role plays a crucial part in achieving commercial objectives, budgets, and future growth requirements while mentoring junior team members.

Main Responsibilities:

As an Engineer, you will:
- Provide technical and engineering support to the land and development team during feasibility studies and lead in preparing site viability reports in line with regulatory requirements for residential development.
- Identify the need for external consultants, agree on fees, scope of service capability, timescales, and deliverability.
- Manage relationships with consultants to ensure timely information flow and compliance with programme schedules and National House Building Council (NHBC) standards.
- Consider and act upon commercial implications related to planning and architectural design, civil and structural engineering design, geotechnical and ground remediation strategies, and statutory services (new supplies and diversions).
- Assist in tendering, setting up, and managing on-site management companies while ensuring legal compliance and adherence to group procedures.
- Collaborate with internal departments, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to achieve Building Regulations and warranty approvals.
- Prepare key status reports and updates on all KPIs relating to the technical function.
- Coordinate the appointment of utility providers, including obtaining designs, quotes, and agreements.
- Manage the Adoption process.
- Provide engineering support to site teams and internal departments.
- Attend site meetings and lead relevant technical discussions related to site infrastructure procurement and approvals.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A relevant qualification or strong experience in technical design and/or civil engineering.
- Knowledge of engineering requirements within the housebuilding industry and the legal framework associated with technical standards.
- Understanding and application of:
- Highway Design Standards.
- Sewers for Adoption.
- Building Regulations.
- British Standards.
- AutoCAD.
- Strong technical and legal knowledge with financial and commercial awareness.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Awareness of Type Approval with NHBC, LABC, and Secured by Design (SBD).
- Strong numerical and literacy skills.
