Linear Recruitment are working with a continuous client, a New Build housing developer, that are looking for a Design Engineer to join the Technical team based in Newcastle.
As a design Engineer, you will coordinate all aspects of engineering design throughout the delivery phase. For this role you will report to the Technical Manager.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Obtain service records and enquiries for new projects (developments)
- Have the capacity to assess Technical information and provide knowledge and direction for foundation solutions and infrastructure.
- Be able to evaluate consultants designs (when required to engage 3rd party consulting engineer) to ensure that proposals are in line to best practice in value engineering.
- Great knowledge of local policies for adopted highway design and previous experience to identify potential commercial improvements in designs.
- Develop appropriate scopes of work and prepare cost schedules for approvals.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in the construction industry gained from working as a Civil Engineer for a Housing Developer or within a similar Engineering role within a design consultancy.
- Relevant HND / Degree / Professional qualification (desirable)
- CSCS Card.
