Building Services Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced Building Services Manager to oversee the planning, delivery, and management of mechanical and electrical services across a variety of construction projects. This is a key role that bridges the gap between design, project delivery, and ongoing building performance – ensuring that all M&E services are installed, commissioned, and maintained to the highest standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of mechanical and electrical (M&E) services within building projects.

  • Coordinate with design teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of services including HVAC, lighting, water, fire safety, security, and building management systems.

  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring work is completed to specification, on time, and within budget.

  • Monitor progress on-site through regular inspections and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, health & safety, and sustainability requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance and resolve M&E-related issues across projects.

  • Support value engineering exercises and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

  • Contribute to handover documentation, O&M manuals, and facilities management planning.

 

About You

  • Proven experience as a Building Services Manager (or in a senior M&E coordination/management role) within the construction industry.

  • Strong technical knowledge of both mechanical and electrical building services.

  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to lead subcontractors and work collaboratively with project teams.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of building regulations, health & safety, and sustainability practices.

  • Relevant qualifications in building services, engineering, or a related field.
